Though part of the same collection and sharing the same core aesthetic principles as The Coffee Table, the focus of End Table 1 is to suggest that it is a section cut through something much larger. Constrained by a smaller footprint, the growths and undulations are less dramatic and in addition to the visual similarities, the dominant aesthetic drivers of form are from the plant kingdom and the slow formation of stalagmites and stalactites. The form is closed and the core is hollow suggesting that something died and disintegrated to create the void inside.
